International Day of Tango

Dear tango friends, Pasiontango wishes you a happy International day of Tango!

The national day of Tango is celebrated in Argentina on the 11 of December and by extension it has become the international day of tango throughout the world.

This date was selected in relation to the birthday anniversary of two great tango legends: Carlos Gardel (1890 - 1935) and Julio De Caro (1899 - 1980).

Carlos Gardel requires no introduction. He was, and still is, in many aspects, one of the most admired popular singers of all time, all musical categories#included and not only Tango.

Julio De Caro was a tango composer whose originality of vision paved the way to a number of other tango composers who flourished during the glorious period of the 1940s.
