The movie Chicago (2002) is film version of the hit Broadway musical from 1975. While Baz Lurhmann's Moulin Rouge was a post-modern affair, Chicago is a throwback to the more traditional musicals of the 1940s and 1950s. The 2002 film won the Oscar for Best Picture, and Catherine Zeta-Jones won Best Supporting Actress.
