One winter morning one men (Marlon Brando) and young woman (Maria Schneider) meet casually while visiting an apartment to rent in Paris. Instantly drawn to each other, passion overcomes them and they start a sordid affair with no boundaries, where the only rule is that they can not reveal their names to each other...
The Last tango in Paris was a very controversial movie when it came out, being classified as pornographic in some countries and having some scenes censored, and was even banned in Italy, Portugal and New Zeeland.
The intense musical score of the movie was composed and performed by Gato Barbieri, well-known jazz saxophonist. With this soundtrack, that marked a peak in his career, Barbieri introduced the world to modern tango.
