This is the moving and passionate story of two tango dancers torn apart by the Argentinean Revolution. When the revolution starts, Antonio (Ruben Juarez) decides to leave the country choosing freedom, while Ricardo (Raul Julia), even with all the violence that shakes Argentina, remains faithful to his country. Now, ten years later, Antonio returns...
When the former partners meet, they decide, along with Elena (Valeria Lynch), to stage a cabaret show called This is Tango (Esto es Tango). There is a palpable tension between Antonio and Ricardo, because both had a history with Elena, and both love her. Who will she choose in the end?
The movie Tango Bar features an unusual showcase of tango performances throughout the times: from world-acclaimed dancers of the Tango Argentino, to Hollywood movie stars such as Rudolph Valentino, Angela Lansbury, David Niven, Gene Kelly, and even the surprising animated character Fred Flintstone.
